Challenge

A U.S. fintech client needed a credit card program built from the ground up, a rewards card for a values-driven niche market, offering cashback and charitable giving with every purchase. The design process had to move fast enough to hit an aggressive MVP timeline.

Solution

I led UX and UI design for the iOS-native card app, covering wireframes for account sign-up, credit decisioning, transaction history, bill pay, and rewards, validated with the client every sprint through a structured two-week review cycle, a UX demo and comment period, followed by a UI demo and final approval, before handoff to development. The result was a clean, trustworthy mobile experience built around 1% unlimited cashback, full Visa benefits, and $0 annual, monthly, and foreign transaction fees.

Success

Despite early turnover on the client's core team, the MVP shipped on schedule for the U.S. market. The two-week design-approval cadence kept a 25-person cross-discipline team, spanning UX, UI, business analysis, development, and QA, aligned sprint over sprint, and a simple comment-complexity framework let most design feedback get resolved in-house instead of stalling on the client. Post-launch usage data wasn't part of this engagement's scope, so the wins here are process and delivery ones, not user-growth metrics.
