Renato Terra, author, screenwriter, and director of "Diário de Dilma" and "Uma Noite em 67," needed a weekly illustration for his humor column at Folha de S.Paulo. The column tracks Brazilian politics and culture in close to real time, which meant a new illustration, a new angle, and a new joke every week for years, not a one-off commission.

Working across "Diário da Dilma," "Uma Noite em 67," "Fla x Flu," and "Eu sou Carlos Imperial," I illustrated the events as they unfolded, from Dilma Rousseff's impeachment and Michel Temer's and Jair Bolsonaro's elections to the rise of Brazil's conservative movement, the COVID pandemic, the World Cup, and Lula's return to the presidency. Each piece had to land its political point fast, in a single image, while finding a fresh visual language for the intersections between Brazilian pop culture, politics, and religion week after week.

More than a hundred illustrations spanning different visual languages, concepts, and techniques were published across both the print and online editions of Folha de S.Paulo over eight years, from April 2017 to October 2025, a running visual record of a turbulent decade in Brazilian politics.
