Challenge

Emerging writers rarely have a physical, well-designed object to put their early work into. Most self-publishing defaults to plain photocopies or PDFs. The project needed a graphic identity and layout system suited to fanzine publishing, fast to produce, cheap to print in small runs, and honest about its independent, urgent origins.

Solution

I designed the graphic identity and page layout for a fanzine collecting work from emerging writers, built around risography, a print method suited to the format's DIY spirit, with its characteristic layered, slightly imperfect color registration and a size structured for short limited-edition runs.

Success

The fanzine was printed in a limited risograph edition, giving a group of emerging writers a tangible, well-designed publication for their work.
